Privacy Policy

Pheri is a local delivery app: you order from shops in your village bazaar, a local rider brings it, and you pay cash at the door. We collect what’s needed to get an order to your door and nothing else. We don’t sell data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising or tracking SDKs.
What we collect

Location is only read while the app is open, when you ask for it or when a rider is on an active delivery. Pheri never tracks you in the background. We do not collect contacts, microphone audio or your advertising ID, and we never read your photo gallery: a shop owner chooses each photo to upload, one at a time, through the phone’s own photo picker. The camera is used only when a rider takes a drop-off photo.
Payments
Orders are paid in cash at the door. Pheri credit (used for Plus and for riders’ and shops’ fees) is bought from a Pheri shop for cash or sent by another user; online top-ups go through Safepay, which handles the card, bank or wallet details; we never see them.
Service providers
- Clerk: sign-in with email codes.
- Neon: our database (United States).
- Vercel: hosting for this website and our API.
- Expo: delivers push notifications.
- Sentry: crash reports, with personal details stripped.
- Safepay: card, bank and wallet payments for Pheri credit top-ups. You pay on Safepay’s own page; we receive only whether it was paid and the amount, never your card or account details.
- OpenFreeMap: map tiles. Your phone asks it for map images of the area you’re looking at.
- Google Maps: only if a rider taps “Directions”, which opens the Maps app.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, address, phone number and email straight away. Past orders are kept with your name and contact details removed, because shops and riders need the amount and date to settle cash. Backups roll off within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Change your name, phone or address: Account → your address.
- Delete your account: in the app (Account → Delete account) or see Delete your account.
- Access or correct your data: email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights over your data. Email us to use them.
Age
Pheri is for people 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child is using Pheri, contact us and we’ll delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
